Joseph McBride is an internationally recognized film historian who has published seventeen books, including acclaimed biographies of Frank Capra, Steven Spielberg, and John Ford, as well as three books on Orson Welles. McBride is a professor in the Cinema Department at San Francisco State University. Into the Nightmare, recounting his three-decade journey into the JFK and Tippit murders, was published in 2013.
