Douglas Valentine is an investigative journalist, historian and poet, best known for his books on the CIA's Phoenix program and the "War on Drugs".  He worked as a researcher for the King family and testified at the 1999 trial about suspicions that Dr. King might have been under U.S. government surveillance at the time of the assassination.
